LEARN TO PAINT AMAZING ABSTRACTS
Would you like to experience the joy and freedom of abstract painting? Learn to paint colourful, joyful abstracts with award-winning artist Cassandra Gaisford. Small, social, in-person workshops.
Hi, I’m Cassandra, The Joyful Artist. My art and creativity workshops are known for being colourful and fun, and ever-so-slightly messy. While I do lots of demonstrations, I don’t teach you to paint like me…I teach you how to paint like YOU! You’ll learn through the creative process to find your own voice and style in your art.
ALL LEVELS. NO experience is needed.
Consider getting a group of besties or work colleagues together for a fun and educational play date. Or, do as one super kind mother-in-law is doing, purchase a gift certificate to attend a future playdate for a loved one.

The purpose of the CREATE AMAZING ABSTRACTS workshop is to inspire you with new ideas, whether you are revising your work, beginning afresh or embarking on a new direction. This is why this workshop applies equally to the beginning and advanced artists. It covers core principles, including composition, values, colour harmony, texture, inspiration and other important elements of abstract art—including the all-important, how to get started!
Throughout this workshop, you will discover the unique process of intuitive painting, including mark-making, action paintings and engaging with a blend of tools to unveil countless approaches to create cohesive and joyous work with colour and composition. All while loosening up and losing yourself in the field of colour.
Beginning artists will receive support and encouragement. Cassandra will be with you every step of the way as she teaches and provides one-on-one guidance and feedback.
Emphasis will be placed on the skills necessary to complete simple and engaging artworks. You will be encouraged to work in teams as well as receive one-on-one instruction. Each participant can expect to make two small abstract paintings and one medium-sized painting.
Workshops are held from 10 am to 4 pm with only four places in each workshop; making it very hands-on and of course, fun!
