Painting for joy, what, why and when…

Learn abstract painting with me—this is the most fun you’ll have. I promise

Come and paint with me. Abstract painting workshops in the Bay of Islands. Paint those grey, winter days away.

Growing up I was blessed in that I had been given the gift of creativity. It’s only into my mid-fifties that I’ve begun to value it. Growing up the messaging around me was that creativity was something dangerous, precarious, life-threatening.

I realise now that these fear-based believes don’t hold true.

Creativity is my superpower. It’s where magic meets mayhem and transforms it into something beautiful. We all know the last couple of years have been nothing but disruption. Fantastically, numerous studies confirm that people who create are happier. Perhaps it’s being surrounded by all this colour! I’ve learned that having a creative escape exerts a long-term positive impact on me, and I’ve discovered it’s something not everyone has.⠀

Albert Einstein once said, “Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.” This, and the undeniable healing power of art is why I am inspired to share my creative magic in my exploring abstraction art workshops. Come, join me and create something beautiful. No experience needed.⠀I share more about how creativity is the covid cure in my blog.

MindFood Magazine also shared a fabulous article singing the benefits of engaging in arts and crafts. Here’s just a few:

  • Stress Relief
  • Confidence and Self-esteem boosting
  • Increases empathy
  • Improves the quality of life of those with illness
  • Enhances brain functioning
  • Lessens effects of those with serious illness
  • Helps people overcome negative addictions

Promotes joy!
