In the midst of winter…new beeswax works

One of the many joys of painting with hot beeswax is the amazing fluidity and radiance of the pieces, and also the opportunity to sculpt and create a stunning array of textures. Encaustic art blends wonderfully with mixed media techniques too. I love it! And winter is the perfect time to create a new body of fire-infused work…not only does creating hot wax artworks heat the body but it warms the soul too.

My new collection is building day by day. Here are two pieces from the Allowing Peace collection. The palette is inspired by the peace and beauty of calm, serene whites in various hues. They are at once meditative and transcendental, and as always love infused.

I have been influenced by the writings and teachings of Adyashanti, Osho and Thich Nhat Hanh and my training as a Reiki master—the ancient art of energy healing. And also inspired by the urgent need to create more peace, tranquillity and stillness in our lives.

My Secret is Silence

My Secret is Silence is infused with the naturally rich honey hues of beeswax and textured with a blend of natural pigment of gold and also Titanium. The name “Titanium white” comes from Latin Titan = elder brother of Kronos and ancestor of the Titans, from Greek tito = day, sun. Titanium white is the Strongest, most brilliant white available to artists in the entire history of art. I love the brilliance of this piece…and it smells divine.
