HOW LESS CAN BE MORE WHEN CREATING GREAT ART

EMPTINESS DANCING: Currently, I am drawn to the peace and beauty of white. Many people think white is an absence of colour, but the opposite is true. White light is a combination of all colours in the colour spectrum.

“Emptiness Dancing” is beautifully layered with sensuously sultry glazes of textured beeswax, wax crayon, pure Titanium white pigment and star-studded with quartz crystals. One of the notable uses of crystal geodes is spiritual healing. This piece positively sparkles.

You will love the light-hearted spirit of fun I have infused into this piece… especially in the times we are living in now, it’s very important to be surrounded by objects that make us smile and make us feel peaceful.

Who is inspiring you lately? Recently, I have become transfixed by Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe. Yesterday during a night of restless sleep, I watched a compelling Netflix documentary, The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe; The Unheard Tapes.

I love her courage, compassion and creative genius. Unfortunately, powerful men exploited both Marilyn and Diana. Who will ever know what truly happened, but one thing is for sure, in their short lives, their huge hearts left an enduring legacy. I hope to do the same with my art, perhaps not in such a grand way, but in my way anyway:).

I have this quote by Marilyn printed in my office—we Libran’s are renowned people pleasers, and it reminds me to focus on prioritising my passion projects and me.
